  • warm welcome, a chance to worship God in a way that will leave you feeling engaged and uplifted, and a cup of good coffee afterwards
  • community of people old and young, white-collar, blue collar, no-collar, clerical-collar, remarkable in wisdom, rich in humor, and blessed with wonderful affection for each other
  • wide and varied range of opportunities to serve, from liturgical service at the altar, to outreach service in our communities

We invite you to join us for Sunday Worship and Sunday School at 9:00 a.m.

Jesus said, "Let anyone who is thirsty come to me."

July 23, 2008

July has been a very hot month in Harpers Ferry, and many hikers have been grateful for the Water Ministry.

So far this summer, among visitors who have signed our guest book as hikers, we have had people from Tucson, AZ; Peachtree City, GA; Wheeling, WV;Auburndale, MA; Damascus, VA; Boise, ID; Spartanburg, SC; New Brunswick, Canada; Taylors Falls, MN; Lancaster, PA

Some quotes from July hikers follow:

  • July 8: Felix from Germany: Be blessed!
  • July 9: "Whistler" from Boston, MA: Thank you so graciously
  • July 11: "Singing Wind" from New Zealand: Many thanks, and a smile.
  • July 19: "Sharkey": While I typically don't sign church registers--the water says more than words could ever hope
  • July 22: Thomas Hill, an Episcopalian: Great idea, and truly Christian. I will pray for your church

Our Mission

St. John's Mission is to love God and worship him and work to spread the good news as Jesus taught us. Our door and hearts will be open to all and we will try to bring love and healing and sustenance to those who are hurting or in need. For we know that God's grace is with us for all eternity.
